Notes from the press

The fresh ink blog

Field guides from a crew that prints at a few hundred events a year — planning playbooks, garment opinions, and budget math without the mystery.

Why we write these

Because the same questions arrive every week, and the honest answers are too long for a text message. Start with the party guide if you're planning your first event, the budget guide if you've got a spreadsheet open, and the garment guide if you're the person who checks fabric tags. Shorter answers live in the Answers hub.

Everything here comes from the press side of the table — what actually happened at weddings in Laguna, kickoffs in Vegas, and backyard parties in Fullerton, not what a marketing calendar demanded. The advice repeats a few stubborn themes because the data repeats them: tight design menus beat sprawling ones, the garment is half the experience, the second printer is never the thing to cut, and a station scheduled for the social peak of the night outperforms one that opens with the doors. When something in our playbook changes, these posts get updated, not abandoned.
